ABOUT
Evan Woolery is a Los Angeles-based visual storyteller. He started his career as a concept artist, storyboard artist, graphic designer, and production designer. He specializes in imaginative visual designs and artwork for the entertainment industry.
For over a decade, he has designed for feature films, commercials, video games, music videos, new media, VR, mobile games, and immersive experiences. Past clients and brands include Aero Film, Bad Robot, Bandai Namco, Dos Equis, Geico, Got Milk?, Hyundai, LG, Mirada, Qualcomm, Paramount, Platinum Dunes, Radical Media, the Rolling Stones, Smuggler, and Tool. He has designed and worked closely with Oscar and Emmy-award-winning directors. His graphic design studio has served over 100 shipped video game titles, which includes Elden Ring, 2022’s winner for Game of the Year and Best Art Direction.
His visual design skills and experience laid the foundation for his career as a writer-director. A goal that was awakened in him and inspired by the birth of his first child and thinking about one day supporting her to pursue her dreams. He founded UPSODOWN in 2016 to create films that explored spiritual and moral questions. His short film, Orientation, about a rich man’s arrival and orientation in the afterlife, was featured on DUST and VERO. Orientation is a proof-of-concept for a feature film project titled The Hereafter. Evan is currently working towards his feature directorial debut film.
